Qualifications
- •Ideal candidates possess formal training in geochemistry, environmental chemistry, analytical chemistry, earth and planetary sciences, or related engineering fields
- •A BS with 4-6 years of relevant work experience is required
- •Minimum 2 years of relevant experience at a mid-size biotech company
- •Practical experience in operating and troubleshooting analytical instruments (e.g., ICP-OES, LECO, IC, HPLC, GCMS)
- •Experience in sample prep for metal analysis
- •Experience with statistical analysis and DOE in JMP, R, or other statistical analysis software
- •Familiarity with lab automation (i.e
- •Agilent, Tecan, Beckman, etc.)
- •Ability to work independently with creativity and strong problem-solving skills
- •Rigorous attention to detail and good documentation skills
- •Ability to communicate effectively with others across departments and disciplines
- •Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment

Responsibilities
- •Transition Metal Solutions is on a mission to meet the critical mineral demand driven by the accelerating energy transition
- •We are pioneering a solution that enhances metal recovery from low-grade ores and waste stockpiles — extending mine life and reducing the environmental impact of mining and metal extraction
- •We're looking for an analytical chemist / geochemist to accelerate project delivery and R&D throughput
- •You'll be mostly responsible for operating and maintaining advanced analytical instruments to analyze chemical composition of geological materials
- •Operating and maintaining instruments including ICP-OES, LECO, HPLC, GC
- •Applying a broad range of analytical methods for geochemical characterization of rocks
- •Ore processing and sample preparation (e.g. crushing, sizing, microwave digestion)
- •Preparing materials including media and buffers, managing experiment schedules, processing materials, and collecting, storing and analyzing data
- •Using automation tools (Bravo, Tecan, etc) to increase experimental throughput
- •Communicating experimental results to the project team
