Job Description
Position Summary:
Rutgers is seeking a Research Support Associate for the Institute for Nicotine and Tobacco Studies ( INTS ), located in New Brunswick, NJ. The Rutgers Institute for Nicotine and Tobacco Studies (formerly Rutgers Center for Tobacco Studies) is undergoing dynamic and transformative growth. The Rutgers Institute for Nicotine and Tobacco Studies is one of the nation's leading tobacco-focused research centers, and its faculty have received over $50 million in extramural funding over the past two decades. The Institute's efforts are focused on their mission of reducing and ultimately eliminating tobacco-related morbidity and mortality. Five Centers or Programs currently operate at the Institute, including a Tobacco Center for Regulatory Science, the Center of Excellence for Rapid Surveillance of Tobacco, the Tobacco Dependence Program, a Tobacco Industry Marketing Program, and a Tobacco Control Law & Policy Resource Center.
Under the direction of the Pre-Award Grants Manager, the Research Support Associate plans, organizes, coordinates, and directs day-to-day activities related to Research Administration within INTS .
Duties include:
• Develops and maintains comprehensive knowledge of NIH, University, and INTS policies and procedures around research fundingand grants.
• Coordinates and supports INTS-wide meetings and workshops to educate faculty and staff on federal, state, institutional, and internalpolicy changes and ramifications; enhance grantsmanship; and submit high quality funding.
• Assists PIs, the Research Office, and Finance Office with ongoing tracking and maintenance of Biosketch and Other Support pages.
• Coordinates across the Research Office, Finance Office, and faculty to ensure these documents are updated, compliant, and alignedwith NIH and other funder policies.
• Supports INTS researchers in maintaining compliance with federal open access regulations through tracking and uploadingpublications in appropriate databases.
• Assists with the coordination and preparation of grant applications through the Research Office, under the direction of the Pre-AwardGrant Manager.
