Job Description
Sr. Research Associate
The McGeachy lab in The Department of Microbiology and Immunology at Cornell University is hiring a Senior Research Associate (SRA) with experience in molecular immunology to lead projects on gene transcription and translation mechanisms in inflammation. Experience with the following molecular techniques is necessary: RNA-immunoprecipitation and sequencing (RIP-seq), IP-mass spec, CRISPR-cas9 mediated gene editing in cell lines and primary immune cells. Experience with isolation and culture of primary T cells from mouse and humans is required. Experience with other immunology assays such as spectral flow cytometry, ELISA, immunofluorescence imaging preferred.
The successful candidate should have a PhD in immunology and at least 5 years of postdoctoral experience and 2+ years at Research Associate level, leading projects in autoimmunity, Th17 cells or inflammation-associated fibroblast activation. They should also have experience in mentoring and training undergraduate and graduate-level trainees on technical procedures, experimental design, troubleshooting. The position requires budgeting and managing purchases for lab members on multiple grants.
