Qualifications
- •Must possess a high school diploma or GED
- •City and department procedures, policies and guidelines; city code; Arizona Revised Statutes
- •Basic technology including but not limited to personal computers, printers, laptops, eBooks and personal tablets or electronic reading devices, fax machines, scanners, and photocopiers
- •Internet research techniques, search engines and various information resources
- •Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with coworkers and other individuals in contact during the course of work; communicating clearly and concisely; providing instruction
- •Providing quality customer service
- •Candidates who are selected for appointment may be required to be fingerprinted, if 18 or older; successfully complete a background investigation, employment verification and may be subject to a drug/alcohol test, medical, polygraph and/or psychological evaluation
- •Candidates who are appointed will be required to possess a valid driver’s license to operate a vehicle in Arizona or meet the transportation needs of the position
- •Physical Demands and Work Environment
- •May require frequent, walking, standing, sitting and continuous operation of a personal computer
- •May be required to perform a full range of motion with lifting and/or carrying items weighing up to 25 pounds

Responsibilities
- •Positions assigned to this class assist library patrons with basic use of library computers and equipment
- •May help patrons with operation of personal devices
- •While the level and broad nature of essential duties may not change, specific work tasks may vary over time depending on the City’s needs
- •Assist library patrons with basic computer functions and office equipment including navigating the Internet, printing, and scanning documents, creating and filling out various documents, faxing documents, and using the photocopier
- •Assist patrons with operation of personal devices as needed
- •Maintain ink and paper supply for printers and fax machines; keep computer area clean and organized
- •Conduct entry-level technology classes teaching the basic use of personal computers, tablets, laptops, software, applications, and services on the web
- •Support the City’s policies, goals and objectives and work with management and other staff to ethically achieve such goals and objectives; ensure compliance with safety procedures
- •Working with little or no supervision
- •Work is performed in a standard office environment
