Posting Summary
Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Study Coordinator (Per Diem) for the Global Tuberculosis Institute Department within New Jersey Medical School.
Responsibilities
• Carries out and coordinates various aspects of research study, including patient recruitment and scheduling, technical support for testing, organization of study visits, and communication with external sources.
• Participates in patient recruitment by reviewing medical charts and contacting clinical and private physicians of the patients. For patients entered into studies via private offices, contacts offices as necessary to acquire pertinent forms and information.
• Schedules patient appointments.
• Explains procedures and research protocols.
• Obtains signatures on consent form and witnesses those forms, if appropriate.
• Performs basic study procedures as required.
• Obtains and documents patient information and medical history.
• Backs up and assists Full time RSC.
Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in a health-related field, plus one (1) year of related experience.
• Equivalent experience, education and/or training may be substituted for the education requirements.
Certifications/Licenses
• Valid driver’s license and vehicle.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Knowledge of HIPAA, ICH, GCP principles, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
• Good communication, writing and editing skills, and ability to work in a team environment and with a diverse patient population.
Preferred Qualifications
• Phlebotomy certification (must be willing to get certified).
• Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred.
