Responsibilities
Performs check-in and check-out duties to include verification of billing data; prepares patients for examinations with physicians; documents patients’ medical history; assists patients during medical examinations; explains medical testing to patients; sterilizes medical instruments and equipment; maintains patients’ medical records; updates patients’ files; answers phone calls and responds to emails; assists in injury care; conducts drug screenings and breath alcohol tests; conducts pulmonary function tests; conducts respiratory fit tests; conducts and assists with audiograms; conducts audio testing; conducts radiology testing; conducts EKGs; administers injections; applies DME/dressings as required; regular and prompt attendance; ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required; related duties as required.
Employees must be in a regular position, working 20 hours or more per week (.50 FTE or greater) to qualify for benefits.

Qualifications
high school diploma or equivalent and two years of related experience in a healthcare setting. Completion of a Medical Assistant training program, certification or registry as a Medical Assistant, and experience in phlebotomy and radiology are highly preferred. Certification as a Certified Occupational Hearing Conservationist (COHC) with the Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC) is preferred. Certification in Spirometry from the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) is preferred. Certification to perform Department of Transportation (DOT) urine drug screen collections and breath and saliva alcohol testing is preferred. Registration as a Medical Examiner Administrative Assistant (MEAA) to submit Department of Transportation (DOT) physicals is preferred.
